Future Development of Gluco-amylase in China to Keep Stable

Gluco-amylase is an important part of enzyme market in China, most of which is exported. In recent years, the capacity and output of gluco-amylase have been increasing but at a modest rate. However, gluco-amylase's economic profit is usually unsatisfactory due to the large investment needed and its low price, especially for domestic market-oriented factories. Production situation of gluco-amylase has been gradually concentrated in large producers these years, while the small ones' market share has been shrunken.

Price of gluco-amylase fell in 2007-2008 despite price rise of raw materials and coal. But the price has kept stable since 2009 because of expanded application and domestic demand. Gluco-amylase, whose application is not so wide as that of α-amylase, is mainly applied in distilled spirits, beer and starch processing, with demand accounting for about 99% of the total demand for gluco-amylase from all application fields in 2009.

With mature and stable market, the future development of gluco-amylase in China will keep relatively stable in the future.
