Asian Paracetamol Demand Expected to be Bullish

China and India supply 80% of paracetamol for the global market in 2010, leading Asia to be the largest area of paracetamol supply. It is estimated that the demand of paracetamol in Asia will be bullish in the future.

As we know, Asia is the largest continent in the world, and it has the characteristics of large population and high population growth rate. Besides, most countries in Asia are developing countries, and the medical system is still in the early stage. Many people can not afford the expensive medicines such as anticancer drugs. They can only use the low price but essential medicines such as paracetamol to maintain their basic medical need. Therefore, the demand of paracetamol is great in Asia.

In addition, some developing countries like India and Indonesia, are launching the new health care reform, which will promote the low-price medicines among the poor. The demand for paracetamol in Asia will keep growing in future.

What’s more, as the main raw material of paracetamol, para-aminophenol (PAP) industry shows great potential with the fast development of paracetamol. The PAP production in the world increases year by year. The output increases nearly 30,000 tonnes from 2008 to 2010.
