Paraquat AS substitutes developed in China
New paraquat formulations are being developed in China. So far, two new paraquat formulations——paraquat GW and paraquat SG have been approved for registration in China. New paraquat formations are necessary to substitute for paraquat AS, which will be banned from the domestic market.
China's herbicide exports witness growth, Jan.-Aug. 2013
In the first eight months of 2013, China exported 543,777 tonnes of herbicides with an increase of 33.19%. The export value of herbicides reached USD1,641 million, up 48.31% compared with the same period of last year, according to China Customs.
Export volume of China's acetochlor TC declines sharply, H1 2013
In H1 2013, China's export volume of acetochlor technical was around 2,209 tonnes, a sharp decline of 60.43% compared with the export volume in H1 2012. However, China's export volume of acetochlor formulations recorded a significant year-on-year growth of 52.19%.
China newly approves ten herbicide products' formal registrations
Recently, a total of 17 herbicide products applied for formal registration in China. Of these, 10 herbicide products were approved for formal registration; 5 may get the approval when supplementary profiles are submitted and some examinations are passed; 2 was not approved to be formally registered in China temporarily.
MOA bans three more long residual herbicides
Sept. 4, 2013, the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China (MOA) officially issued its meeting minutes, revealing that it has set the deadlines for the withdrawal of three types of long residual herbicides: metsulfuron-methyl, chlorsulfuron and ethametsulfuron from the domestic market.
