Lanfeng Biochemical Continues to Perform Well in Q1 2012

Jiangsu Lanfeng Biochemical Co., Ltd. (Lanfeng Biochemical), one of the leading carbendazim producers in China, which has achieved a sound performance in 2011, continued to perform well in the first quarter of 2012, which is beneficial to enhance its integral competitiveness and enterprise image to a great extent, according to CCM International’s June issue of Fungicides China News.
In detail, both the total revenue and net profit of Lanfeng Biochemical witnessed increase in Q1 2012, reaching USD48.25 million (RMB304.44 million) and USD4.13 million (RMB26.09 million) respectively, up 20.50% and 16.86% over the same period of last year.
According to Lanfeng Biochemical's Q1 2012 financial report, its good performance is primarily attributed to the rise in sales of pesticides and intermediates, two major businesses of the company. Furthermore, Lanfeng Biochemical increased its supply with the expansion of some products both in variety and capacity during the course of its relocation, which greatly promoted the company's sales of main businesses. 

Take carbendazim for example, Lanfeng Biochemical's sales volume of this fungicide has considerably soared up in the first three months of 2012, and statistics from China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA) show that domestic sales volume of the company's carbendazim technical has exceeded 1,000 tonnes only in Feb. this year.
Owing to the large quantity of demand for carbendazim from both at home and abroad as well as good product quality, Lanfeng Biochemical's capacity and output of carbendazim technical have been rising to a great extent in recent years.
According to CCPIA, the capacity and output of Lanfeng Biochemcial have hit 15,000t/a and 14,677 tonnes respectively in 2011, increasing by 9,000t/a and 10,069 tonnes over 2008. So far, Lanfeng Biochemical is the second largest manufacturer of carbendazim technical in China, just next to Anhui Guangxin Agrochemical Co., Ltd.
Lanfeng Biochemical expanded not only its fungicide production but also insecticides and herbicides. For instance, the company's capacity of acephate technical (an organophosphate insecticide) has been expanded to 8,000t/a in Feb. 2012 from the original 2,000t/a. 

It is worth noting that Lanfeng Biochemical has realized the importance of strengthening the development in domestic market due to the outbreak of financial crisis and the European debt crisis. Therefore, the company has been making great efforts to heighten its product marketing and brand promotion in China in recent years on the basis of cementing its overseas business.
"Our company brought out some new products and further widened domestic terminal market through the implementation of detailed promotion measures in early 2012," said Mr. Liang, General Manager of Lanfeng Biochemical.
In the next few months of this year, Lanfeng Biochemical plans to increase investment in domestic market, optimize the structure of its sales regions, and strive to achieve a considerable breakthrough–seizing more market share of pesticides to continue to enhance its overall performance to a great extent.
