Current production and competition situation of five feed pigments in China

With the fast development of poultry and aquaculture industries in China, the domestic feed pigment industry has witnessed a fast growth over the past decades. In our latest survey of feed pigments in China, we traced the current situation and the competition situation of five main feed pigments in China, namely capsanthin, canthaxanthin, lutein, apo-ester and astaxanthin.

Generally speaking, the macro environment in China is favorable for the development of the feed pigment industry, although there are tough days due to negative factors such as bird flu incidents. The competition among domestic manufacturers is also getting fierce. Take the capsanthin feed pigment for example, producers have to face the intense competition resulting from its substitute canthaxanthin feed pigment and suppliers’ strong bargaining power.

Through the report, readers can get a clear understanding of the production situation of the five feed pigments, as well as the competition situation among major domestic producers. Featured contents of the report are as follows:
l  Producers and the output volume of the five feed pigments in China in 2012
l   Main planting areas of chili in China during 2010–2012
l   Main planting areas of marigold in China during 2010–2012
l   Market price comparison of two red feed pigments in China in May 2013
l   Market price comparison of apo-ester feed pigment in China in May 2013
l   Market price comparison of canthaxanthin feed pigment in China in May 2013
l   Production lines of apo-ester feed pigment producers in China in 2012
l   Comparison of production lines of top three domestic canthaxanthin feed pigment producers in May 2013
l  Products price comparison of top three domestic canthaxanthin feed pigment producers in May 2013
l   SWOT analysis on major domestic feed pigment producers

The report also conducts a PEST analysis (PEST refers to political, economical, social, and technological), as well as a Porter’s five forces analysis (Porter’s five forces refer to bargaining power of suppliers, bargaining power of buyers, potential new entrants, threats of substitutes, and degree of competition) of the five feed pigments.

China’s Titanium Dioxide Industry to Have a Promising Future

The sixth edition of the titanium dioxide series reports was published by CCM International recently. The new report, with the title Survey of Titanium Dioxide in China (The Sixth Edition) indicates that China’s titanium dioxide industry is expected to have a promising future.

After a rapid growth in the past few years, China has become the biggest titanium dioxide production country since 2009. From 2006 to 2011, domestic titanium dioxide capacity has increased with CAGR of 9.84%. With lots of environment pollution caused by sulfate process in titanium dioxide production, Chinese government has set a series of policies to restrict the capacity expansion with sulfate process in 2011. And it is estimated that the capacity of China’s titanium dioxide will increase slowly in the coming 5 years.

China’s export volume has also enjoyed a fast development in the past. The export volume has increased nearly double from 2005 to 2010. And China has been a titanium dioxide net exporter since 2010.

In addition, China is one of the largest consumers of titanium dioxide in the world. From 2006 to 2010, the apparent consumption of domestic titanium dioxide has witnessed an increasing trend with CAGR of 11.34%. The titanium dioxide is mainly consumed in coating, plastic and papermaking industries in China.  And in H1 2011, the consumption volume of titanium dioxide in these three fields accounts for about 81.5% of the total.  It is estimated that the consumption volume of titanium dioxide in China would see a further growth.

More findings and details are in CCM International’s titanium dioxide report. If you are interested in this report, please feel free to contact us at econtact@cnchemicals.com.

Total Output of Wheat Gluten in China to Keep Growing in the Future

CCM has released a new report on wheat gluten on November 4, 2011, entitled Production and Market of Wheat Gluten in China, revealing that China's total output of wheat gluten will keep growing in next few years.

As an important production and consumption country of wheat gluten in the world, China's output and consumption of the product has kept rising in recent years. The country totally produces about 200,000 tonnes of wheat gluten in 2010, and it is equipped with a capacity exceeding 410,000t/a in 2011. Most of the products are exported to Southeast Asia, South America, Australia, Europe and the U.S.

In addition, China's consumption of wheat gluten has also been growing in recent years. Domestic users prefer home-made wheat gluten with little import. The top two application fields of the product go to food and feed fields in 2010. Thanks to the increasing demand from downstream industries such as food, feed and aquatic products, China's total output of wheat gluten will keep its uptrend in the next few years.

Domestic industrial experts anticipate that the growth of wheat gluten market in China is promising.
