DuPont Imprelis Herbicide Was Ordered to Stop Sales by EPA

Guangzhou China, August 16, 2011 DuPont Imprelis Herbicide”, one of DuPont’s turf products, was ordered to stop sales by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) due to its damage to non-target trees, on August 12, 2011.

Based on extensive reports and test data from DuPont, EPA has reason to believe that the label directions or caution warnings on Imprelis Herbicide are inadequate to protect non-target species, which resulted in the damage to large numbers of coniferous trees.

Marketed to control weeds, vines and grasses, the Imprelis product was registered by EPA on August 30, 2010 and has been put into market this spring. But at the beginning of June 2011, EPA started receiving complains about its damages to trees, particularly evergreen, such as Norway spruce and white pine, following the use of Imprelis Herbicide.
