Shandong Polymer has also been striving to ease the shortage of capacity

Shandong Polymer is a leading enterprise in the domestic EOR industry with a capacity of 33,000t/a anion PAM (APAM) and 12,000t/a cationic PAM (CPAM), among which, 10,000t/a APAM and 10,000t/a CPAM were put into production in April 2012 and Dec. 2009, respectively. With this newly-released capacity, Shandong Polymer can take the second place in the domestic PAM industry. Moreover, in Dec. 2012, the company started a new program to double its AM capacity.

Therefore, the expanded capacity of the company can help it meet needs of more customers and enable it to fulfill the contract.

Shandong Polymer Bio-chemicals Co., Ltd. (Shandong Polymer) signed again a supply contract with Sinopec Shengli Oilfield Company (Shengli Oilfield) on March 19, 2013. According to the contract, Shandong Polymer will supply 13,500 tons of polyacrylamide (PAM) during the period of March 19, 2013-Aug. 21, 2013. The contract values USD35.4 million, about 38.09% of Shandong Polymer's total revenue in 2012.

In fact, Shandong Polymer has just completed one supply contract worth USD34.7 million with Shengli Oilfield, supplying about 13,300 tones of PAM during the period of Oct. 26, 2012-Feb. 28, 2013.

Introduce to sweeteners usage habit of the Chinese

On 15 March 2013, Quantum Hi-Tech (China) Biological Co. Ltd (QHT), a main functional oligosaccharide producer in China, announced that the company will invest USD7.97 million (RMB50 million) at most to purchase banks' wealth investment products, aiming to bring more profit in the company. It is worth mentioning that the amount of QHT's investment is higher than its net profit in 2012. According to the 2012 annual report of QHT released on 20 March 2013, the net profit of the company only reached USD5.63 million (RMB35.28 million) in 2012.

On 19 March 2013, PureCircle (Jiangxi) Co. Ltd (PureCircle) has organized a promotional meeting on stevia in Pan Cun Town, Mingguang City, Anhui Province according to the official website of the local government. During the meeting, Wu Dongquan, the vice president of PureCircle, analyzed the current situation of the global stevia sweetener market and the development plan of the company's raw material bases. He showed that the demand for stevia will increase in 2013, and that the company will adopt a development mode of "Company + Cooperative + Grower" to control the planting base's construction, in which the company will implement the purchasing program" a high quality and a high price" and "a minimum protective price", with a purchasing volume of stevia of more than 20 thousand tonnes in 2013.

In the past, most of the Chinese tended to be conservative, when talking about the use of sweeteners, though they had been approved by the government for a use in the food and beverage industry. That's because Chinese people, largely influenced by the traditional Chinese medicine theory, prefer natural things to artificial ones. To most people in China, natural things are more trustworthy and safer than artificial chemicals. Therefore, even trivial incidents or small news about the effects of this sort of food additives on health will have a large impact on the public, and even the government's attitude towards such ingredients.   The Chinese government's management of sweeteners, especially artificial ones, is as strict as that of preservatives. Sucralose, as one kind of sweetener, is subject to strict laws and regulations.

Demand of Glucono-delta-lactone GDL to be Increasing in the Future

CCM International has published the third edition report of Production and Market of Glucono-delta-lactone in China in November 2011. The report reveals that the demand of glucono-delta-lactone will be increasing in the future.

China is one of the important producers of glucono-delta-lactone (GDL) in the world. The total output of GDL in 2010 reached about 16,000 tonnes. From 2007 to 2011, the production capacity of GDL has increased a lot, while the output has been dragged down by the impact of the global financial crisis and the rising production cost during this period.

At present, there are about ten GDL producers in China. Anhui Xingzhou Medicine Food Co., Ltd. (Anhui Xingzhou) ranks No.1 among producers nationwide.

The production technology is mature, which is the fermentation method with using glucose or corn starch as raw material. Meanwhile, two major different fermentation methods are applied in this industry in China. One is calcium salt method; the other is sodium salt method. Although fermentation method is relatively more eco-friendly than chemical method, fermentation method still causes some pollutant to environment. Attributed to the stricter environmental policy, the production cost is expected to increase.

In general, China is an important GDL export country in the world. Egypt, Germany and South Korea are the top three export destinations of China's GDL in 2010.

Foods and pharmaceuticals are the main consumption fields of GDL in China. In food industry, bean curd is the biggest consumption field of GDL. Thanks to the fast recovery of domestic food industry, as an innocuous food additive, the demand for GDL will be increasing in the future.

CCM International Releases Market Report of Glucono-delta-lactone

The third edition report of glucono-delta-lactone (GDL) was newly-released by CCM International this November, namely Production and Market of Glucono-delta-lactone in China. The report presents you an in-depth analysis of China’s GDL market from aspects of production, export, technology, consumption, future forecast, etc.

China is an country of important glucono-delta-lactone production in the world. Since 2008, domestic GDL industry has been affected by the global financial crisis. In 2011, domestic GDL sees stable recovery and some producers have been washed out due to profit deficit, while some have still expanded their production capacity. Through this report, you can find out the latest production situation of glucono-delta-lactone in China.

There are about ten active GDL producers nationwide in 2011. China's total output of GDL reaches 16,000 tonnes in 2010. Among them, Anhui Xingzhou Medicine Food Co., Ltd. is
the largest producer at present. What is the latest information about the producers in China? Meanwhile, food is the biggest consumption field in China. So what is the latest consumption pattern of GDL in China?

Additionally, the major production technology of GDL is fermentation method technology. However, current fermentation method in China still causes some pollutants. With the stricter domestic environmental policy, it will lead to more production cost to domestic producers, considering its high three-waste treatment cost. What is the development trend of domestic production technology concerning GDL?

Apart from the aspects mentioned above, what other changes in GDL industry can be seen from 2006 to 2010? What will be the overall development trend of GDL industry in China?
All answers can be found in this report.
This report combines CCM International's expertise in GDL market research. Highlights of this report are listed as follows:
-Production situation in China
-Export analysis and forecast
-Technique Analysis
-Description on consumption pattern, apparent consumption and application fields
-Forecast on supply and demand of in Chinese GDL by different scenarios

Growth of Wheat Gluten is Promising in China

CCM will release a new report on wheat gluten, entitled Production and Market of Wheat Gluten in China, which is expected to be launched on Nov. 4th, 2011. The report will give you an in-depth analysis on wheat gluten, including production, capacity, output, raw material, driver, barrier, forecast and major producers, etc.

The report will also reveal the fact that the supply and demand of wheat gluten grows rapidly in China. Domestic industry experts reckon that the growth of wheat gluten is promising in China.

Currently, there are more than 40 active manufacturers of wheat gluten in China. Most of them are located in Henan, Hebei, and Shandong Provinces, which are the major wheat production areas in China. Henan Lotus Flower Gourmet Powder Co., Ltd. and Henan Tianguan Group Co., Ltd. play an important role in the market, whose products are mainly for export. Domestic manufacturers make non-soluble wheat gluten, while the European ones focus on soluble wheat gluten. Chinese consumers mainly use homemade wheat gluten with little import.

Is wheat gluten manufactured as a prime product or a co-product? What are the drivers of wheat gluten’s production in China? Is there a market for foreign participants? What is the fast-growing segment of consumption? What are the main drivers of wheat gluten’s consumption?  You might find all these answers in CCM’s upcoming report.

Pesticide Business Licenses in Hainan Province Becoming Hotspot

Guangzhou China, August 17, 2011CCM has released the latest issue of Crop Protection China News, indicating state-owned enterprises and private enterprises are all busy preparing the bid for pesticide business licenses in Hainan Province in late Aug. 2011.

With advantages of large state-owned background, Hainan Agricultural Production Materials Co., Ltd. and Haiken Agriculture Materials Co., Ltd. are believed to be the default winners of the pesticide business licenses bidding.

In terms of small and medium size pesticide wholesale enterprises which are unwilling to lose their business in Hainan Province, some of them have held together and co-founded a company to bid for pesticide business licenses.
