China's fungicides Imp. & Exp. analysis in H1 2013

China's import of fungicides witnessed a growth in the first half of 2013–import volume rising on one hand and import value climbing on the other. According to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (China Customs), China's import volume of fungicides reached about 15,184 tonnes from Jan. to June 2013, up by 12.37% over the same period of last year. In detail, the import volume of retail packing fungicides hit around 760 tonnes in H1 2013, up by 4.11% over H1 2012. In addition, the non-retail packing variety climbed to about 14,424 tonnes in the meantime, up by 12.84% year on year.

As for the import value of fungicide products, it amounted to USD171.13 million in H1 2013, up by 15.71% compared with that in H1 2012, owing to the growth in the total import volume of fungicides and the increasing average import price. It can be seen from the above data that the average price of imported fungicides in H1 2013 rose by 2.98% year on year to about USD11,270/t.

By export volume of fungicides to China, Germany still maintained the No. 1 place in H1 2013. Specifically, China imported about 3,243 tonnes of fungicide products from Germany, followed by India, France, Columbia, Japan, etc. It's worth noting that Thailand rose from No. 14 in H1 2012 to No. 8 in H1 2013 by export volume of fungicides to China. Moreover, the import volume of fungicides from the top 10 origins accounted for 80.62% of China's total in H1 2013.

In H1 2013, China's export business of fungicides also enjoyed a rise in export volume, value and price to varying degrees. Statistics from China Customs show that China exported about 37,034 tonnes of fungicides to overseas markets.
