Lipase Demand in China is Estimated to be Prosperous

Compared with developed countries, the production development of China's lipase started later, and its output was not stable and most of lipase was imported before 2003 due to few producers at that time. With more and more producers starting production after 2003, the production situation turns better and the market develops relatively fast. From 2004 to 2010, China’s lipase output increased from 1,000 tonnes to about 2,500 tonnes with a CAGR of 16.2%.

In 2010, there are eight active lipase producers in China, such as Haining Jinchao Industrial Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Lihua Enzyme Preparation Technology Co., Ltd., etc.

In China, lipase is widely used in papermaking, backed food and other fields. The largest application field is papermaking, with consumption accounting for about 80% of the product's total consumption in 2009. The entire demand is not large but will be prosperous as estimated.

All the above findings are from CCM International’s report of Production and Market of Lipase in China, newly-released in November, 2011. If you are interested in this report, please feel free to contact us at econtact@cnchemicals.com.

Starch Industry Enjoys Fast Development in China

China is the second largest starch producer in the world. There are two kinds of starches, native starch and modified starch. Major varieties of native starch include corn starch, potato starch, cassava starch and wheat starch, while that of modified starch include corn modified starch, potato modified starch and cassava modified starch.

China's starch output has kept growing rapidly with CAGR of about 17.00% since 2001, which reached 17.10 million tonnes in 2008. It is predicted that China’s starch output will increase stably to 25.47 million tonnes in 2020. What is the position of Chinese starch industry in the world? Why do Chinese starch industry develop so fast? Which products will witness promising prospect in the future?
China is also the second largest native starch consumption country in the world, with total consumption value of USD6.10 billion in 2008, of which USD700.00 million was contributed by modified starch consumption. With various characteristics and functions, modified starch is widely applied in industries such as papermaking, food processing and textile in China. What is the consumption market in food processing, papermaking, beverages and other industries?

Starch Industry Hot Topics Released by CCM

A report named Starch Industry Hot Topics was released by CCM, which gives you an in-depth analysis on the big events and changes happening in starch industry, including:
- Cases of enterprises integration in starch industry
At present, companies' reorganization is a development trend in starch industry, as more and more small-scale enterprises would be eliminated in the industry due to immature production technologies and weak competitiveness. Restructuring of starch industry is in progress and inefficient production capacities have been gradually washed out from the field. Enterprises integration becomes a future trend for starch enterprises to survive and develop.

- Supply structure and price fluctuation of feedstock
Among different kinds of feedstock, corn accounts for 79.83% of total supply of starch feedstock in China in 2010. Corn price increases in 2010, which is mainly attributed to rapid development of corn deep processing industry and pork storage plan.
On Aug. 30th, 2010, China begins to run the anti-subsidy investigation into EU's potato-based starch. If this anti-subsidy investigation is successful for China, the import volume of potato-based starch will reduce a lot, and domestic potato processors and peasants will get a more favorable profit margin, which will greatly restore the market share for domestic potato processors.

- Analysis on sustainable development of tapioca-based bio-fuel and tapioca starch
- Commercial production of waxy corn starch
- Genetically modified food policies
- New application of starch in papermaking
