On Nov. 31, 2012, China Pharmaceutical Group Limited (China Pharmaceutical) issued Performance of China Pharmaceutical during Q1-Q3 2012 which indicated the company suffered USD27.1 million loss during Q1-Q3 2012. The loss was mainly caused by bad performance of its two main products, vitamin C (VC) and antibiotics. Thereinto, the revenue and gross profit of VC during Q1-Q3 2012 were USD126.2 million and USD-4.8 million, down 29.3% and -119.8% year on year respectively.

According to the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA), microcapsule suspension formulation is the mainstream product among all the microcapsule formulations in China. The registration number of miceocapsule suspension formulations nearly accounts for 85% of the total registration number of miceocapsule formulations currently. Besides, most of the microcapsule formulations are insecticides, such as abamectin, lambda-cyhalothrin, thiacloprid, etc. Some are herbicides, such as pendimethalin, acetochlor, clomazone, and a few of plant growth regulators. As of Aug. 2012, 39 microcapsule formulations have gained registrations in China, single agents mainly. About five microcapsule formulations are compound agents, and only one has been registered by domestic enterprise. In addition, the new registrations of microcapsule formulations are 10 in China from Jan. 1 to Aug. 2, 2012, all of which are insecticides.
